John Atchison

John was born in Lexington KY and graduated from Centre College with a BA in economics and business management.

John has made many friends working for families, designing and building custom homes throughout central Kentucky. He also has many lifelong friendships he has built in the construction industry working on many projects and serving in industry organizations like The Homebuilders Association of Lexington and The Lexington Board of Realtors.

He started Atchison Construction Co over 30 years ago and has a had a lifelong passion for homebuilding and construction ever since. John joined longtime friend Steve Heller in 2000 to form Atchison Heller Construction Company to start one of the areas first maintained communities at The Tradition at Parks Edge. As partners and collaborators they have worked on thousands of projects in Lexington and beyond.

John loves to ski in Utah whenever he gets a chance and is always ready for a game of golf. He is married to Diane and has 3 children Laura, Ann Hart, and David. He loves to travel and whenever the opportunity arises you can find him flying to a UK football or basketball game. He has even been known to attend big games at rival schools such as Alabama where his daughter went to school and LSU where his son is studying.

John has always had an interest in helping those in need. He has established a consistent record of helping in his community through his church and through the many charitable organizations he has volunteered service in.
